both were pretty good. the biggest distinction is where the truth lies plays it straight, while kiss kiss bang bang is thoroughly post-modern noir. i think kkbb works better, or maybe it's just better made. kevin bacon is excellent in truth lies, channelling manic jerry lewis one moment, being a mean ass sumbitch the next. all the acting in kiss kiss bang bang is top notch, and the babe is a BABE. rrrrrr.

neither movie offers any great surprises. where the truth lies has such a classic cliche that i'll share it, but don't scroll down if you don't want the ending spoiled...
